That’s why we’ve taken significant steps to make our business more sustainable, including transitioning to the use of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel in all of our plant and machinery.

HVO fuel is a renewable, synthetic diesel alternative that offers a number of advantages over regular diesel, including:

• Reduced carbon footprint: HVO fuel produces up to 90% fewer greenhouse gases than traditional diesel, helping to mitigate our impact on climate change.
• Improved air quality: HVO fuel burns cleaner than regular diesel, producing fewer harmful emissions such as particulate matter and nitrogen oxides (NOx). This is important for protecting the health and well-being of our employees and the communities we serve.
• Enhanced engine performance: HVO fuel has better combustion properties, leading to improved engine efficiency and reduced maintenance costs. This helps to extend the lifespans of our equipment and reduce downtime.

In addition to switching to HVO fuel, we have also taken other steps to reduce our environmental impact, such as:

• Using alkylate fuel (petrol) in our chainsaws and other small equipment: Alkylate fuel is a cleaner-burning type of petrol that produces fewer harmful emissions and reduces engine deposits.
• Investing in battery-powered equipment: Battery-powered equipment produces zero emissions and is much quieter than traditional petrol-powered tools. The added benefit of battery power is significantly reducing the effects of “Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome “ (HAVS) also known as white finger.
• Although most of the battery powered equipment still requires ear protection , they are on the whole significantly quieter than petrol powered tools. Minimising noise disruption in residential areas and natural environments and potential hearing damage to our team.
